The weather wasn’t kind to me this weekend in Cornwall however we did find a fantastic river reflecting the beautiful green colours onto the water flowing around rocks.

We had a fantastic time down at Keyhaven on Friday night despite the wind blowing a hoolie! Lorna and I got thoroughly soaked whilst Selina and Michael seemed to manage to stay mainly dry! I suffered massively from sea spray on my filters, once you’ve wiped them a couple of times it seems impossible to get rid of the film – must remeber a little water bottle spray next time.
Lovely sunset though and great company, hopefully next time we’ll be able to hold a conversation above the noise of the wind!

Many thanks to everyone who came down to Acquire Arts on Saturday, Sunday and Monday 10/11/12 July to look around See Life Through The Lens’ first exhibition. We estimate we had over 200 people come through the doors, many of whom bought limited edition prints from the exhibition or booked onto a Landscape Photography Workshop. The exhibition showed photographer Helen’s underwater, landscape and travel images that had been specifically chosen for the venue and were displayed in A3 and A2 sizes, you can also purchase these limited edition prints in A4 and A1 sizes from the website.
Comments about some of the images shown in the exhibition include:
“So surreal and so impressive”
“I love the movement of the water and yet so peaceful”
“It’s a combination of contrasts, black and white, dark and light, movement and stability – like life!”
“Feels like I’m in a different world”
If you missed out on the exhibition you can still see some of the prints in The Three Bridges restaurant on Battersea Park Road www.thethreebridges.com or browse through the galleries on this website. We hope to be doing a couple more exhibitions in the future so watch this space!

As per our other news, CONGRATULATIONS to Janice who won the draw and gets the first edition of her favourite photograph framed, well done Janice.

Would you like to meet up at Keyhaven on Friday 16th July for Sunset to photograph the groyne there? Sunset is around 21.15 so if anyone would like to join me I will be by the bridge between 20.15 and 20.30 when I will be leaving to take a stroll down. There is no charge for joining me as I will also be taking photographs, but am more than happy to help put with composition, ideas, settings etc.
We will be meeting at Point A on the map below, there is usually free parking on both Saltgrass Lane and New Lane. If you are itnerested in joining me please drop me an email to helen@seelifethroughthelens.com
If the weather looks particularly awful I will postpone the event, please check this post 2 hours before leaving to meet me.
