"I had a fantastic day out with Helen taking landscape photos. I learnt a lot at a pace that suitedme and had a lot of fun as well. Helen listened to what I wanted and tailored the shots to cover my requests. She did all the driving leaving me to concentrate on the photography. She even let me loose on some of her filters! Thank you Helen for such a great day and for sharing your wealth of knowledge, I hope to book with you again in the future."
"From castles to graveyards, ocean, piers, and Durdle Door thrown in on special request, the weekend workshop with Helen on the Isle of Purbeck was informative, action packed and lots of fun.
Helen provided the opportunity to photograph some amazing locations, comfortable B&B accommodation in Corfe Castle and plenty of ideas and helpful tips to help on my ongoing photography journey. We had some amazing sunsets, sunrises and even some editing tips thrown in for good measure for a bit of a rest! Thanks very much Helen for a great and educational weekend. I am checking out Portland next!"
"Thanks for your help last week Helen, the course showed me that there are more elements to landscape photography than just light. I now feel more confident to get out there and capture images I can be happy with"
"Having owned a digital SLR for about six years, I decided I really should start using it for something other than family snapshots. It was an easy decision for me to choose See Life Through The Lens - the images in the online galleries are stunning, and I really wanted to be able to get similar results in my own photography. The weekend landscape course at Portland started with an hour on techniques on the evening of our arrival. This seemed a little daunting at the time but everything quickly fell into place once I was behind the viewfinder over the next two days, and with some timely prompts and gentle encouragement I really felt I had come on leaps and bounds by the end of the course. I now need to find a course on time management to enable me to get out with my camera more often! Thanks Helen, top marks all round."
"I just wanted to send you a big thank you for the photography workshop this weekend. Not only did I have a great time (sleep deprivation serves to make the days last longer; which is great at my age) but I learned loads. It is absolutely true to say that after just a couple of days I see things in a very different way and see opportunities for great photography where previously I would have ignored. It's re-enighted my appetite to take great pictures
You're a great coach and I look forward to teaming up with you again, hopefully in a workshop later in the year."
"Thanks Helen for a great weekend! Having booked for a weekend course from Australia after seeing your advert in a magazine I can now say I have a great idea of what I am doing. I picked up so much on the 2 days not only about composition and filters but also about my camera. I can recommend Helen's workshops to every one. I never expected to take in so much! The only downside was the weekend went so quick, so thanks once again Helen it was a lot of fun."
"Location, location, location that is what its all about and Helen certainly knows some of the best! I have recently returned from my second seelifethroughthelens workshop and it was inspiring, motivating and great fun! My knowledge about composition and shooting in manual has escalated due to Helen's excellent tuition. I am ready to book another trip already!"
"I wish I had come on a workshop years ago as I learnt so much in such a short space of time. Helen you are a brilliant trainer and it was a pleasure to meet you too."
"I can thoroughly recommend Helen's workshops to help improve your photography. My one on one session involved lessons in filters, long exposure, composition and dodging rain and was a really enjoyable and fun day with lots of hints and tips to take away and practise. I am really looking forward to my weekend workshop in October!"
“I had a fantastic time at Helen's Isle of Purbeck workshop. The locations we visited were stunning and I took some of my best photos ever under Helen's tutelage. Helen was fun, helpful and informative and I really enjoyed her easy-going teaching style. She went out of her way to make sure we got everything out of workshop that we wanted. Thanks for a great weekend!”
"Just a quick email to say a big 'thank you' for such a fabulous day out yesterday. There a couple of my photos which stand out from the rest, (even though the rest are good by my standards) they will certainly end up on my wall. Thank you and hope to see you again soon."
"My main objective for the weekend was to understand how to use the ND and grad filters and gain some experience and confidence with them: I achieved that fully. I found the seascapes easier than the landscapes and learnt a lot more about composition than I thought I would. Your input was great mix of fact/teaching, enthusiasm and friendly cajoling; and at the right level of intervention – leaving us to have a go, but then guiding us or helping when asked. Thanks for a great weekend. As I have said, I learnt lots – much more than I thought I would"
"Whilst the Plan was to spend time (and we did) to get the best result from the Camera requiring minimum editing, I still took 50 plus pictures. From my viewpoint, it was a good day I felt I learnt a lot and have the confidence to use Manual when it is the best way for me to get the result I am looking for.” Eddie Collins
"I booked Helen's Ancient Headlands weekend course as I wanted to improve my photographic skills and understand how to use filters / time exposure, but mostly to become confident in using my camera in manual mode. Helen soon put me at ease with her ability to understand what I was trying to achieve and with her sense of humour and great skill made the hole learning experience fun. Helen even lent me some of her filters and a heavy duty tripod (it was very windy).
I can thoroughly recommend Helen's workshops. Thank you Helen I achieved much more over the two days than I thought possible."
“I would like to reiterate my thanks for the course as you made me feel at ease, and I learned more than I expected. I was worried that the course might be too technical for me, but you pitch your courses to suit the individuals – your website doesn't lie! Now for looking for a tripod that will work!”
"From the variety of landscape courses available I choose to enrol on one of Helen's courses based on both the strength of her own work and recommendations from past clients ... I was not disappointed. Helen took us to a variety of sites throughout the day allowing the group to experiment with different techniques. The course developed my photographic techniques through effective use of filters, composition considerations and in the use of additional features of my camera system. Helen provides a wholly professional service, is very knowledgeable in both the capture of images and post processing and ensures the development needs of course participants are met. Following the course I came back literally buzzing and am now taking every opportunity to put my new found knowledge into practice ... I would thoroughly recommend Helen's courses to any aspiring landscape photographer."
